Cell Biology and Art Class Omnibus

CACAO is a project funded by the Erasmus+ programme under Key Action 2 – Cooperation Partnerships in Early Childhood and School Education. The project coordinator is Juraj Dobrila University of Pula.
In order to deepen and diversify the key skills, knowledge, and attitudes of early childhood educators in Europe and beyond, the “Cell Biology and Art Class Omnibus” (CACAO) project brings together researchers in biology and music, artists, educators, and experts in technology-enhanced learning from five European countries to jointly create a unique early childhood learning programme that combines cell biology, music, dance, and visual arts. High-quality early childhood education is an exceptionally powerful means of promoting continued success at school, in the workplace, and in society.
Seven partners from five European countries (Croatia, Spain, Belgium, Poland, and Italy) are brought together in a project consortium with the aim of developing and implementing a highly innovative and inclusive pedagogical concept that integrates music, visual arts, and cell biology.
The CACAO pedagogical programme will be developed for children aged five and six and their educators, who will receive certified professional training in the use of music as an educational tool for teaching biological concepts to young children.
