CACAO is a project financed from the Erasmus+ program within the framework of key activity two - Collaborative partnerships in preschool and school education. The coordinator of the project is Jurja Dobrila University in Pula.
In order to deepen and diversify the key skills, knowledge and attitudes of preschool educators in Europe and beyond, the Cell Biology and Art Class Omnibus (CACAO) project brings together biology and music researchers, artists, educators and technology-assisted learning experts from five European countries to together they create a unique preschool learning program that combines cell biology, music, dance and visual art. High-quality early childhood education is an incredibly powerful way to promote continued success in school, the workplace, and society.
Seven partners from five European countries (Croatia, Spain, Belgium, Poland and Italy) are gathered in the project consortium with the aim of developing and implementing a highly innovative and inclusive pedagogical concept that combines music, visual art and cell biology .
The CACAO pedagogical program will be created for five- and six-year-old children and their educators, who will receive certified professional training on the use of music as an educational tool for teaching children biological concepts.

During the two years of project implementation, five project results will be created:

CACAO online platform with a web repository of activities, songs, videos and audio materials for the CACAO curriculum

CACAO certified online course for early childhood educators following the CACAO curriculum, enabling continuing professional development in STEAM for preschool educators
