Project
DesignCARE is a project financed from the Erasmus+ program within the key activity of the Partnership for Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training. As part of the project, students of vocational medical schools from two schools in two EU countries (one secondary and one multi-secondary level) will be trained, and they will be involved in participatory medicine through communication skills and the acquisition of diversity competence skills.
The new DesignCARE curriculum can be integrated into existing secondary and higher vocational school medical programs with the potential to create new, adaptable and innovative study programs at higher levels, preparing students for their future healthcare work environment.

The goal of the DesignCARE project is to create three project results:
-
increasing the capacity and competence of partner institutions for the creation and implementation of a new teaching module of participatory medicine through design thinking and the principles of responsible research and innovation (RRI),

encouragement of internationalization in partner institutions, increased visibility of partner institutions at the EU level, and the first generation of medical professional students at partner institutions trained in participatory medicine and RRI principles,
-
development of two important transversal skills: communication competence and diversity competence, both for teachers and for students of vocational schools.
In addition to the above, within the framework of the project it is also important to train teachers to design a course that encourages skill development, research-based learning, creativity and cooperation between peers and their teachers. The intention is to train teachers to use inclusive, collaborative design thinking methods as an innovative educational strategy.
